A day learning lively dances from John Playford’s “Dancing Master” series (c.1650-1728), using coded clues from the printed page to establish tempo, structure etc. Identify changes in steps from earthy Tudor to post-Restoration Frenchness.

Doors open 1000h, dancing 1030-1630h approx. Lunch 1300-1400h. 
Note: this is a dance (not music) workshop but it may be possible to accommodate musicians who would like to play for period dancing.
£40 (£5 reduction for low income, or members of the Historical Dance Society).
half-day tickets available:  £20 (£18 for people on low incomes) for either 10-1300h, the ‘Tudor’ steps, or 14-1700h, the ‘Baroque’ steps.
