Nigel Close has danced for most of his adult life and was dance director of the display team Woodfidley for many years. He calls for Playford balls, barn dances and club nights far and wide; has taught a wide range of workshops in Hampshire and at May Heydays, Chippenham and Sidmouth festivals; he leads the Winchester club ‘as many as will’.

He believes that dancing is a joy and that part of this enjoyment is in listening and responding to the music – making the music visible in dance.

Occasionally he is the token man in a circle dance group.
